The Wilmington Minority Professional Networking Group (WMPNG) was formed in 2005 by Shann Coleman. The WMPNG started with about 30 members and have grown to a membership of approximately 1300. This organization was started to address the challenges facing Wilmington’s Minority Professionals and Business Owners. The organization is dedicated to bringing together people who live and work in Wilmington, N.C., and share similar backgrounds and experiences for personal and professional awareness, interaction, and development.
The WMPNG currently has no costs associated with being a member, and there are no limits as to how many types of professionals can be members. The WMPNG is open to everyone and provides a relaxed atmosphere in which to share referrals, meet new people, and expand your business contacts.Friday, February 3rd, 2011

The most important benefit is receiving the opportunity to network with other minority professionals. For a very long time, I didn't think Wilmington really had any minority professionals and the Wilmington Minority Professional Networking Group has helped me change that perspective.
