The Wilmington Minority Professional Networking Group (WMPNG) was formed in 2005. The WMPNG was started to address the challenges facing Wilmington’s Minority professionals. The organization is dedicated to bringing together diverse people who live and work in Wilmington, N.C., and share similar backgrounds and experiences for personal and professional awareness, interaction, and development.
The Mission of the WMPNG is "To strengthen the networking opportunities for minority professionals working in the Wilmington area, thus providing people with similar backgrounds and experiences opportunities for personal and professional awareness, interaction, and development. To expose minority professionals to local business leaders, to improve Wilmington through community service and involvement, and to attract and retain minority professionals in Wilmington."

organization founded by African-American women and the nation’s oldest and largest civil rights organization
are partnering in support of Alpha Kappa Alpha’s international service program to fight heart disease: Pink Goes Red
